On Sunday at around 2-40 a.m., police were called to Ridley on Coln Road to report that the Audi A3, heading in the direction of Brierfield, collided with a single-decker bus and a second Audi A3, which at that time were parked and were not busy.
The driver of a moving Audi, a man aged 20, received a minor leg injury.
The passenger, a boy of 17 years old, received serious injuries to the head, chest, lungs and pelvis. Both were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital for treatment, but the teenager sadly died of his injuries yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, November 12).
The boy can now be called Fayyaz Ahmed of Breerfield. His family was informed, and our thoughts were with them at this time.
The police would still like to speak with someone who witnessed the collision or who saw Audi while driving along Coln Road in the moments leading up to the collision. They would also like to hear from anyone who has a video recording of a collision dashcam.
Sergeant Michael Belfield of the Lancashire TacOps police team said: “The young man, unfortunately, lost his life after this collision, and my thoughts are now very close to his family. We are in the process of establishing what exactly happened, and would like to talk to everyone who saw the collision or who captured it on a DVR or video surveillance. ”
